Air Logistics opens in Albania

The global GSSA, Air Logistics Group, continues to expand its network with the recent opening of its 51st office located in Albania. The office was successfully launched on 1st July 2010 and is located at Tirana International Airport.

The office is being overseen by Jindrich Hudecek, Regional Director Eastern Europe & Turkey and is being managed locally by Sokol Bunjaku, Country Manager Albania, who has over 12 years previous experience in the air cargo industry.

“Our new operation in Tirana is fully structured to offer international standards of GSSA services to airlines operating into Albania,” comments Jindrich Hudecek, Regional Director Eastern Europe & Turkey, “This level of service is not currently available in Albania, where the cargo market is still evolving.”

This high standard of service has been recognised by Lufthansa Cargo, who has appointed Air Logistics as its GSSA partner in Albania from the 1st July 2010. Lufthansa Cargo operates twice daily services from Tirana to Munich and twice daily services from Tirana to Vienna with onward connections to destinations worldwide.

“Our expansion into South East Europe is a strategic step in the process of growing our global network. We believe it is a good time to open an office in Albania while the cargo market is still relatively new and a neutral player is needed to provide quality cargo solutions to airlines and freight forwards alike.” Comments Stephen Dawkins, Chief Operating Officer, Air Logistics Group. “We very much look forward to developing business from this region and we hope to launch of an office in neighbouring Kosovo in the coming months.”

The Air Logistics Group network now totals 51 offices across 28 countries, with offices recently opened in Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro.
